Many of you know that the community of St. John's benefits from the service of many young men and their supervisors from Vision Quest throughout the year. The Shepherd's Green Community Food Pantry and other ministries of the parish have enjoyed countless hours of their time and hard work over the last year.
As a way of expressing our gratitude for their hours of service, Mark has suggested that we prayerfully consider supporting the Wood Shop Program at Vision Quest. This may be done in a couple of ways; If you have anything you want to get rid of such as paints/wood stains, screws/nails/fasteners/old hinges, etc., paint brushes of any size, any type/size of scrap wood, old hardwood flooring, trim pieces...anything that may be useable that you are ready to part with, this is the time!!! Even hand tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, etc. that you may have duplicates of can always be used. In addition to giving these young men valuable skills through their work in the shop, Mark tries to teach his students to reuse items whenever possible. "It shows them how to save resources and save money." If your basements and garages are already free of any unwanted "stuff," please consider making a donation to the program. We ask that all donations be brought to the church during Rally Week in September. Please stay tuned for more information!!
